Appreciation of Architecture I

Historical survey of the architecture of Western civilization. For nonmajors.

Class description

Arch 150 is the first of two courses on Architecture Appreciation. This course presents a chronological survey of western and non-western architectural history from prehistory through the Middle Ages, with an emphasis on the relationship of architecture to cultures.

80 minute lectures twice weekly are illustrated with slides.

Recommended preparation

For Non-majors or pre-arch students.
