Statistics for Policy Studies

Surveys important aspects of social science research for academic and practical investigation. Focuses on gaining an understanding of research and statistical analyses and their relationship to policy concerns. Prerequisite: minimum grade of 2.7 in BPOLST 500. Offered: W.

Class description

This course aims to prepare students to conduct statistical analysis for policy research, with an emphasis on SPSS statistical software. Topics will include discriptive statistics, statistical inference, ANOVA and regression. Students will become familiar with when to use different statistical approaches, and how to interpret and communicate the results of analyses.
