Mathematical Thinking for the Liberal Arts

Develops mathematics from historical, intellectual, and applied perspectives. Designed to broaden concepts of the meaning of mathematics, develop mathematical thinking, and encourage the use of mathematics in meaningful applications.

Class description

The course develops three important mathematical topics from an historical perspective, an intellectual perspective and an applicability perspective. The course is designed to broaden the student’s concept of what is mathematics, to develop their mathematical thinking, and to see and use mathematics in, meaningful real-life applications.
