UW Tacoma Campus Safety
253-692-4416 (or #333 or #333 from campus phones). UW Tacoma Campus Safety is concerned for the safety of everyone on campus. Services include safety escorts, and vehicle lockout assistance. We also publish resources on crime prevention education and annual crime statistics. Officers are employees of the State, however, they are not commissioned state officers.
UW Violence Prevention and Response Program
The UW Violence Prevention and Response Program provides:
- 24/7 Central reporting and consultation for non-urgent concerns about violence and violence prevention
- Immediate risk mitigation recommendations and resources
- Collaborative risk assessment and action plan creation
- Follow-up monitoring of situations of concern
- Violence prevention training for the campus community
- Customized departmental training upon request

UW CareLink is the faculty and staff employee assistance program (EAP). It is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Confidential, short-term consultation for personal and work issues is available to employees, their dependents and household members at no cost. UW Alert is a University of Washington (UW) developed communications service that distributes official information during emergencies or crisis situations that may disrupt normal UW operation or threaten the health or safety of members of the UW community. Signing up for UW alert can help you know about and how to respond to an event in the most effective manner possible, as early as possible.
Campus Safety Escort Program
253-692-4416 (or dial 333 from any campus safety telephone)on a campus telephone and a Campus Safety Escort will walk you safely to your vehicle. The service operates Monday through Thursday from 5:00pm to 10:30pm, except holiday's, Breaks and Summer quarter. The program is staffed with contracted security personnel. This service is free of charge to anyone who requests it.
UW Tacoma Student Counseling Center
UW Tacoma Student Counseling Center 253-692-4501 Helps students cope with stresses and personal issues. Provides individual, couple, and group counseling; educational workshops and classroom presentations; support groups; consultation with students, faculty, and staff; and referrals, when appropriate, to community mental health and social service providers.
Hall Health Mental Health Clinic
Hall Health Mental Health Clinic Provides mental health services to students, faculty and staff, including assessments; individual, couple, family and group therapy; medication evaluation and management; and referrals when appropriate to other campus or community resources. 206-543-5030
UW Women's Center
The UW Women's Center offers a safe space and point of contact for students and community members in addressing sensitive issues in their lives, such as domestic violence, sexual assault, depression and eating disorders. The UW Women's Center houses a large collection of resources that enable the staff to connect those in need with appropriate services. 206-685-1090.
