UW Violence Prevention and Response Program

The UW Violence Prevention and Response Program provides:

  • 24/7 Central reporting and consultation for non-urgent concerns about violence and violence prevention
  • Immediate risk mitigation recommendations and resources
  • Collaborative risk assessment and action plan creation
  • Follow-up monitoring of situations of concern
  • Violence prevention training for the campus community
  • Customized departmental training upon request

UW Tacoma Student Counseling Center

UW Tacoma Student Counseling Center: 253-692-4501 Helps students cope with stresses and personal issues. Provides individual, couple, and group counseling; educational workshops and classroom presentations; support groups; consultation with students, faculty, and staff; and referrals, when appropriate, to community mental health and social service providers.

UW Violence Prevention & Response Program:

253-692-SAFE (253-692-7233) Central triage for violence concerns and reporting. Provides support and education to ensure that individuals are connected with services and resources that fit their needs and concerns.

UW CareLink

UW CareLink is the faculty and staff employee assistance program (EAP). It is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Confidential, short-term consultation for personal and work issues is available to employees, their dependents and household members at no cost. UW Alert

UW Alert is a University of Washington (UW) developed communications service that distributes official information during emergencies or crisis situations that may disrupt normal UW operation or threaten the health or safety of members of the UW community. Signing up for UW alert can help you know about and how to respond to an event in the most effective manner possible, as early as possible.

Campus Safety Escort Program

DIAL #300 or #333 on a campus telephone and a Campus Safety Escort will walk you safely to your vehicle. The service operates Monday through Thursday from 5:00pm to 10:30pm, except holiday's, Breaks and Summer quarter. The program is staffed with contracted security personnel. This service is free of charge to anyone who requests it.
