2008 Summer Institute Application
Application deadline: Monday, March 10th, 2008 at 5pm
Download and complete the 2008 Student Application Form for the Summer Institute.
In addition, you must submit answers to the following question.
IN NO MORE THAN A TOTAL OF 750 WORDS, PLEASE RESPOND TO THE FOLLOWING PROMPT:
Why are you interested in the 2008 Summer Institute on “Media and the Senses”? What type(s) of projects do you imagine will emerge from the Summer Institute, and how might you—in particular—contribute to the emergence of these projects?
Finally, include the following with your completed application:
- An unofficial copy of your most recent transcript;
- A letter of recommendation from a University of Washington faculty member familiar with your coursework and/or prior research experience (you may not submit a letter from a graduate student assistant or teaching assistant);
Note: You will need to submit only one copy of your letter of recommendation, sealed and signed by the faculty member. - And either:
- A writing sample from one of your courses or personal work (8-10 pages preferred, not including works cited/references).
Or: - A work sample: portfolio of digital images (maximum height or width 1240 pixels, file format must be .jpg, 300 dpi), pdf files, and/or video/sound clips. Submission format should be a universally read CD/DVD or the URL for your website. Include an image list and 1 page portfolio statement in printed form with submission
- A writing sample from one of your courses or personal work (8-10 pages preferred, not including works cited/references).
Please send five copies of your completed application form, response to the prompt, and the required supplementary materials by Monday, March 10th, 2008 at 5pm to:
