    Facilities & Administrative Rate Calculation
Facilities and Administrative (F&A) costs for research are a national issue with continually changing requirements, review processes, and applications. In this course, participants explore how F&A cost developments—such as the inclusion of Cost Accounting Standards into OMB Circular A-21—impact the UW. Learn how F&A costs are formulated, and how information supplied by departments (via faculty effort certification forms, the space survey, and equipment inventory data) is factored into the F&A proposal submitted to and negotiated with the federal government.

Fundamentals of Grant and Contract Management
This course is designed for individuals with limited experience in the administration of sponsored projects at the UW. Content covers the basic administrative requirements, pre-award to post-award, for conducting sponsored research/training at the UW including: UW research policies and the procedures established to ensure compliance; costing policy and budgeting; description of award provisions and the range of acceptable terms; and the basics of budget administration. This course also addresses forthcoming developments in electronic grant administration.

Fundraising: Grant Research and Proposal Writing
Fundraising of any sort is about building relationships; following protocol; being creative, confident, and passionate; and expressing it all in writing. Participants in this course are introduced to team and idea development; basics of case statement writing; whom to approach when seeking funding (and how to approach them); grant research and writing; and the grant approval process. This interactive course uses a variety of media, as well as group and individual work. Participants must complete a reading assignment prior to the first session; they must also complete one writing assignment between the sessions.

Grant and Contract Fiscal Administration I
This is an introductory course for individuals beginning to work with grant and contract budgets. Participants gain knowledge of policies, rules, regulations, and procedures necessary for administration of grant and contract budgets. NOTE: Fundamentals of Grant and Contract Management or an equivalent is a pre-requisite for this course.

Grant and Contract Fiscal Administration II
This intermediate course is designed for individuals currently using or administering grant and contract budgets. Gain increased knowledge of complex policies, rules, regulations, and procedures necessary for post-award administration of grant and contract budgets. Participants should have some experience with grant and contract accounts. NOTE: Both the Fundamentals of Grant and Contract Management course and the Grant and Contract Administration I course (or an equivalent) are pre-requisites for this course.
