SUBJECT: NIH Grants Policy Statement

SUPERSEDES: GIM 12, Revised December 31, 1998

The National Institute of Health (NIH) announces the new Grant Policy Statement in its NIH Guide Notice NOT-OD-009. The NIH policy statement is based on the need to provide its grantees with updated information as well as its desire to enhance its method of communicating about its grants policies and process.. Information in the revised publication will be valuable to those who direct or administer grants. The updated portion dealing with Post award Administration is included as an attachment to GIM 18.

The NIHGPS is available on-line from the NIH Office of Extramural Research and the OSP Policy web page.
