SAGE requires each user to have a UWNetID which will be used to log into SAGE and also for email notification (eApproval). For those persons not affiliated with the UW officially, but needing access to SAGE (e.g., VAMC, FHCRC, SCCA, CHMC), you will need to submit a web-request form. This form must be submitted by a UW employee or "sponsor" and only takes a few minutes.
Step 1: Collect the name (first, last) and Social Security Number of each person needing access. You may also wish to ask them about their login name preferences (see Step 3).
Step 2: Go to https://www.washington.edu/computing/forms/sponsacct/index.cgi. Enter your identifying information in the "contact" section, then enter their information in the "sponsored person" section.
Step 3: The form will request two login name choices. We suggest you use first initial and last name, or first name and last initial. For example, Jane Doe would be "jdoe" or "janed".
Step 4: Click on the submit button at the bottom of the screen.
The requester will receive notification that an account has been set up. The login name and temporary password will provided.
Step 1: Go to https://uwnetid.washington.edu/manage/.
Step 2: Change your password.
Step 3: Set up your UW email account.
Step 4: Set up email forwarding to your local email account (e.g., xxx@va.gov or xxx@fhcrc.org). This is a requirement of a no charge account. If forwarding is not set up you may be charged a fee.
In preparation for your access to SAGE (System to Administer Grants Electronically), I have taken the following steps:
A. Requested a UW email account. This sets up a UWNetID and password which you will use to access SAGE. Email notification will be sent to this account and then be forwarded to your local email account.
B. Given you access to SAGE by entering your UWNetID into ASTRA (UW authorization system). You will receive an automated email when ASTRA has processed my request.
Please complete the following four steps at this time:
Step 1: Go to https://uwnetid.washington.edu/manage/.
Step 2: Change your password.
Step 3: Set up your UW email account.
Step 4: Set up email forwarding to your local email account (e.g., xxx@va.gov or xxx@fhcrc.org). This is a requirement of a no charge account. If forwarding is not set up you may be charged a fee.
If you are interested in viewing a TRAINING version of SAGE, go to http://www.sage.washington.edu and click on "Use SAGE Training Server". You will be asked to log in using your new UWNetID and password. This version looks and functions like the production version of SAGE, but it is not!
