This table lists all the fields on the Non-Government section of the Compliance Explanations screen of the eGC1.

Field Name Description More Info

NG-1

Office of Development

NG-2

Foreign Sponsor

Provide the name of the country where the foreign funding sponsor is located.

NG-3

Flow Through Sponsor

Identify the prime souce or originating sponsor.

In some cases, the funding for a project does not originate with the organization granting the funds to the UW. Funding originating with NIH, for example, may "flow through" the University of Pennsylvania to the UW. In this case, the UW would identify UPenn as the sponsor (on the eGC1), but we also need to recognize NIH as the prime source of the funding. This information should be entered in the NG-3 Compliance Explanation.

  • Click on the "Look Up" button to go to the Sponsor Chooser.
  • Search by Sponsor Name or Parent Sponsor Name for the sponsor or agency you want to add.
  • Click "Select" to select the desired Sponsor and you will be returned to the Compliance Explanations page.
  • What if I can't find my sponsor on the list?
