Add Approver

General Information

The Add Approver button allows you to add a person or role (i.e., Dept Reviewer) to the Approval Graph. This function may be used when an extra person or role needs to approve, or a person or role needs to re-approve.

Note: If a division, department or dean's reviewer needs to re-approve an application, add the appropriate ROLE (not person) to the graph. Since this will display the unit name and the name of the person who approved, a more complete audit trail is maintained.

Add a Person
Look Up  After selecting to add a "person", the "Look Up" button will display on the screen.
  1. Click on the "Look Up" button to go to the Personnel Chooser.
  2. Search by Name or EID for the person you want to add.
  3. Click "Select" to select the desired person and return to the Add Approver screen.
  4. What if I can't find my personnel on the list?

 
Location on Graph  Use the drop-down list to identify the location on the chart where the new approver should be added. For example, "Dept Reviewer". The drop-down list is unique to each eGC1 approval flow.  
Relative to which box on chart 

Determine if the new approver should be placed before, in parallel or after the location chosen above. A new box will be added to the approval chart in this location and an email notification will be sent to this person at the appropriate time in the approval flow process.

 
Reason  Enter a comment to describe why this person is being asked to review this eGC1.  
Add a Role
Role Click this option if you want to add a role, such as "Dept Reviewer".  
Role to Add

After selecting to add a "role", the drop-down list will display on the screen. Choose the role you want to add to the approval chart.

 
UW Org Code for this role Some roles require further specification. All SAGE roles requiring further specification use Organizational Codes. Select the appropriate Org Code that represents the unit role you want added to the Approval Chart.  
Location on Graph Use the drop-down list to identify the location on the chart where the new approver should be added. For example, "Dept Reviewer". The drop-down list is unique to each eGC1 approval flow.

Buttons
Add Approver Click this button to add the approver to the graph.  
Cancel Click the cancel button to exit the Add Approver process and go back to the Approval Flow (graph).
