The Scholars Program is designed to support one-quarter of scholarship release time for 10 to 20 faculty members per year. To be eligible, the applicant must be assigned to teach at least 4 substantial courses per year. The awards always include the department's real teaching replacement costs and may also include research support. Although request for release time support has typically come most strongly from the humanities, arts and social sciences, all faculty are eligible.
