Funding Opportunity for Parkinson’s & Crohn’s Research

Posted on June 28, 2012 at 2:38pm

An email from the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America

A funding opportunity has come to our attention.  The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF) has issued a Request for Applications for studies exploring LRRK2 function in the immune system and its possible role in neuroinflammation relevant to Parkinson’s pathogenesis.  Successful applications would receive a 2 year $250K grant and membership in their LRRK2 Consortium.

Since LRRK2 has been implicated in both Parkinson’s and Crohn’s, MJFF has reached out to CCFA and asked us to make our research community aware of this opportunity, which could ultimately increase understanding of LRRK2 function in both diseases.

It is our understanding that MJFF is looking to fund 3-4 awards to researchers working in non-Parkinson’s related diseases.  No LOI is needed and the deadline for full application is July 31.

Full details may be found on the MJFF website at https://www.michaeljfox.org/research/grant-detail.php?id=10

Best regards,
Marjorie Merrick
