- Do I need IRB approval for LSDF proposal at the time of proposal submission?
- No, Just in Time procedure can be used for LSDF proposal.
- Do I need Animal Care Committee approval for LSDF proposal at the time of proposal submission?
- No, Just in Time procedure can be used for LSDF proposal.
- How do I convert the F&A cost on the budget spreadsheet to the eGC-1?
- For the eGC-1, place all costs under unallocated line item. If the proposal is funded, OSP will contact PI/Dept for the GC-1 budget breakdown.
- My proposal contains UW cost sharing, do I need to submit the GC-1 addendum?
- No. OSP will contact your Dept for the cost sharing information and GC-1 addendum should the proposal be funded.
- How many file attachments should I upload to the eGC-1?
- Please upload only two (2) .pdf files to the GC-1: one file contains a full proposal and a second file contains all pages that require signature.
- What box do I check on the "Intellectual Property Certificate" page?
- Please check "Yes".
- If I have a subcontract in my proposal and the subcontract is under $25,000, how do I calculate the UW F&A charge on each subcontract?
- LSDF allows a fixed fee of $15,000 for each subcontract. If the subcontract is under $25,000 you can prorate this fixed fee.
- The LSDF program announcement stated the equipment threshold of $5,000 however the UW equipment threshold is $2,000, which one should I use?
- Please use $5,000 threshold per LSDF program guidelines.
- Do I need a letter of support for my LSDF proposal?
- Yes. A letter of support should be signed by your Department Chair or the Dean if the Dean will be asked to contribute resources.
- LSDF requires the electronic submission of the proposal via the LSDF website, Do I submit my proposal directly?
- Yes. Since LSDF requires the invitation code for each proposal and only PI has this invitation code, PI may submit LSDF proposal directly provided that PI obtains necessary approval of the eGC-1 and a signed face page of the application before submission.
