At the UW Nursing School, real-world emergencies are experienced in the safety of a classroom. Students at the University of Washington are now using life-size computerized simulators -- the latest technology trend to train students about real-world emergencies before they set foot in a hospital room. UW School of Nursing students learn how to check for leaks in chest tubes hooked up to SimMan, a computerized, simulated patient used in the school's hands-on training lab.
