  • There are currently nine NIH Centers of Excellence at UW.
  • The Center of Materials and Devices for Information Technology Research is the only NSF Science and Technology Center in all of Math & Physical Sciences in 2002.
  • The UW Genome Center & Microscale Life Sciences Center are two of three NIH/NHGRI new Centers of Excellence in Genomic Science in 2002.
  • The Friday Harbor Laboratory is one of the two new inaugural NIH/NIGMS Centers of Excellence in Complex Biomedical Systems Research in 2002.
