Federal grant solicitations

Posted on January 8, 2014 at 3:30pm

With the passage of the federal budget, several agencies are announcing their grant opportunities for FY2014. There are several new grant opportunities which have opened in the past couple of weeks. From the Department of Justice, almost all of this year’s grants from the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) have opened and the remaining two will be open in Feb; the Consolidated Tribal Assistance Solicitation (CTAS) grant is now open from several of DOJ’s offices and the Bureau of Justice Assistance has announced a grant under the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA). There are also several new opportunities from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). From their Administration of Children and Families, a transitional living program grant; from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a preventing violence and violence related injury research grant; and several opportunities from HHS’s Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). In addition, a youth job training grant from the Department of Labor, a workforce development and job training grant from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and a travel in rural areas grant from the Department of Veteran’s Affairs.
