As one of the top research institutions in the nation, the University of Washington has a significant impact on the Washington state economy. UW is the number one public institution for attracting federal research dollars. Research at the UW supported 7,600 full-time equivalent employees at the University during fiscal year 2005, and based on an economic mutiplier provided by the U.S. Commerce Department, UW research funding generated about 34,000 jobs statewide.

Office of Clinical Research - A central contact point for information about industry-sponsored clinical trials in the School of Medicine
General Clinical Research Center - Support services for research involving human subjects. The GCRC gives first priority to academic research, but will consider industry-sponsored projects after scientific review.
