Washington state is well-positioned to be the nation’s focal point for 21st century engineering and technology. The UW has taken an interdiscplinary approach to engineering fields that range from nanotechnology to artificial intelligence. But more can be done, and a more collaborative effort between business, industry and academia is needed to build an engineering infrastructure that will situate our state as a leader in this field.
