Western Institutional Review Board (WIRB)

The WIRB is a fully accredited, commercial institutional review board that reviews to FDA regulations and ICH guidelines. WIRB is now providing the review and oversight of most new industry-sponsored clinical trials conducted at or through the University of Washington, as of June 8, 2005.

See WIRB FAQs for a list of common questions. This will help you determine whether your study is eligible for WIRB review. It also contains information about the application process and the fees charged by WIRB.

IMPORTANT: If you are going to use WIRB for review, it is essential that you read all of the instructions (see below) posted here as well as the instructions at the WIRB web site.
