IRB Committee
General Information
The UW has seven
committees that
review research
conducted by University
faculty, staff,
and students. The
primary responsibility
of the review committees
is the protection
of the rights and
welfare of human
subjects who participate
in this research.
Each
IRB committee
meets on campus every
other week throughout
the year. Committee
meetings typically
last from 2.5 to 4
hours and require
from 6-8 hours of
preparation prior
to the meeting. Members
are appointed by
the Vice-Provost
for Research for
a minimum of one
year. There is no
monetary compensation
for committee
members. Parking
is provided.
