Purpose
This guidance is to assist University of Washington (UW) Human Subjects Division (HSD) staff, IRB members, and researchers in determining when a study may be closed according to Federal, State, and Institutional policies. This guidance and procedure applies only to research approved by an IRB. Other determinations, including a Limited Activities Determination follow separate guidance and procedures. For these determinations, please refer to the applicable documents.
