Purpose

For research designed to involved subjects who do not speak and/or read English, any consent forms and other written materials for subjects must be translated or interpreted into a language understood by the subjects.  The UW IRB encourages but does not require the use of a certified translator or interpreter. Translated or interpreted materials may not be used until they have been approved by the IRB.
