Course Description

This course is designed for those who work with grant and contract budgets. Participants gain knowledge of policies, rules, regulations and procedures necessary for post-award administration of grant and contract budgets. A working knowledge of grand and contract agreements is advised.

Course Elements

To successfuly complete this course, participants must:

• read 8-10 hours of online materials (see course confirmation notice for web address and availability date),
• complete a series of 8 multiple-choice quizzes at least 7 days PRIOR to class,
and
• attend the 3 hour class session.

NOTE: Due to the significant amount of pre-class work, participants are expected to plan and prepare accordingly. To effectively learn the online material, participants should consider reviewing material in multiple shorter segments. We recommend breaking segments up by major topic area or based on 2-hour segments of focused learning time. Absolutely no registrations can be accepted less than 2 weeks prior to the class session due to the required preparation by participants.

To Receive Credit for the Class

1. Register with Training and Development
2. Read the brief overview of grant and contract fiscal administration.
3. Read each topic page.
4. Complete & submit the quiz for each topic - you will need your UW NetID to take the quizzes.
5. Submit any questions that you would like to have covered during the in-person session to Kristin Findley, Monique Bradley, or Suprimo Manabat.
6. Attend the in-person session.

Included is a glossary of terms used throughout Grant and Contract Fiscal Administration which you should refer to as necessary.
