Diversity-promoting Institutions Drug Abuse Research Program (DIDARP) (R24)

The purpose of this FOA issued by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) is to increase the drug abuse and addiction research capacity of institutions that serve economically disadvantaged students and provide services to economically disadvantaged communities. Awards will be provided to foster the research career development of a diverse cadre of students, faculty and staff in drug abuse research (see Section III, 1.A. Eligible Institutions). All capacity development and research activities must address scientific areas related to the mission and priorities of the National Institute on Drug Abuse.

Application Instructions

Please submit a two-page letter of intent with a list of all anticipated investigators, description of proposed aims and approach, Biosketch of the PI, and a letter of support from the Dean or Chair to by Thursday, May 16, 2013. This letter of support signifies that the Dean or Chair have ensured the nominee’s eligibility per the sponsor’s requirements, and that the nominee and application are likely to be of sufficient quality to be competitive nationally. Full applications are due to the sponsor on 9/9/13, so you will need to have your materials in to the Office of Sponsored Programs by 9/2/13 for processing if given the go ahead by the review committee
