The Sensors, Energy, and Automation Laboratory (SEAL) develops advanced sensors for energy applications, including mobile robots for power system condition monitoring, sensors for detection of moisture concentration in organic substances, and sensors for optimization of burning regime in industrial boilers. Industrial Assessment Center (IAC) provides energy assessments to qualified manufacturers and finds opportunities for pilot testing of energy-efficiency and renewable energy technologies developed at the University of Washington and elsewhere.
