How do you identify costs for your project scope? Which costs are often overlooked when preparing a budget but are necessary during funding? What are the categories, formats and coding used by the UW and sponsors? Why are budget justifications so important? These questions and more will be answered during this session. Gretchen Davis Richey
Learning and Communications Specialist, Office of Sponsored Programs
Gretchen Davis Richey is currently the Learning and Communications Specialist for the Office of Sponsored Programs at the University of Washington. She has primary responsibility for developing a collaborative learning program in research administration and compliance, and is coordinating the faculty orientation and brown bag series. She was an original member of the SAGE Team, providing business analysis, communication, training, outreach and support to the campus community. The first 9 years at the UW she managed research in the School of Medicine for several faculty members studying the effects of aging on reproductive function in a human model. Gretchen has prepared numerous proposal budgets and managed their awards. Gretchen enjoys mentoring new researchers as they develop their research programs.
