The Center for Clinical and Epidemiological Research (CCER) at the University of Washington is focused on using innovative strategies to conduct research that is relevant to the healthcare and well-being of underserved populations. This overarching agenda has been the driving force behind a truly interdisciplinary approach in examining areas as diverse as unexplained clinical conditions, such as chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia, and health disparities in American Indian and Alaska Native populations. Additionally, The University of Washington Twin Registry, a community-based registry of twins who are willing to participate in research studies, is a tremendous scientific resource in examining and identifying the genetic and non-genetic contributions to health and illness. Our goal is to be in the forefront of scientific inquiry and to promote research of value to citizens of Washington State and the nation.
