Virtual Information Behavior Environments (VIBE) study 3D Virtual Worlds (VW) while they are still emerging in order to shed light on how trust, credibility, and information problem-solving behavior (seeking, assessing, and using information) occur in VW, and how new technology designs can contribute to immersive, interactive, and integrated information practices.

Core Services Offered

We conduct research in Second Life, a 3D social virtual world. We will be hosting a Future of Information Exposition in Second Life, where users have the opportunity to experience ways to incorporate virtual world technologies to support their information practices.
