Wind River Field Station
Mission
The Wind River Field Station (formerly Wind River Canopy Crane Research Facility) is located on the Wind River Experimental Forest within the Gifford Pinchot Nation Forest. The Field Station actively participates in several environmental monitoring networks while incorporating numerous research projects and providing educational/outreach opportunities for students and professionals in environmental science and natural resource management. Wind River Field Station operates from an agreement among the University of Washington, the Pacific Northwest Research Station (PNW), and the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
