Biography

Frederick C. Kiga is the Vice President of State and Local Government Relations and Global Corporate Citizenship for the Boeing Company. Prior to joining Boeing, in November 2007, Mr. Kiga was the Director of Corporate and Government Relations at the Russell Company. Mr. Kiga also served as Chief of Staff to Governor Gary Locke. While serving with the Locke Administration, Kiga was responsible for organizing the Governor’s Competitiveness Council, a council focused on improving the state’s business climate, organized efforts to retain Boeing’s 7E7 program, and implemented use of an innovative “Priorities of Government” budget process to address a $2.5 Billion deficit without a tax increase. Kiga previously was a consultant with one of the Big 5 Accounting firms and a Banker with Washington Mutual. Kiga has BA and JD/MBA degrees from the University of Washington and is a member of the Washington State Bar. Kiga resides in Seattle with his wife Marianne and daughter Nicole.

In addition to his work with the UW Board of Regents Mr. Kiga currently serves on a number of professional/civic board and commissions including: the Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle, Capitol Hill Housing Improvement Program, BOLD INitiative, the Association of Washington Business, Washington Dental Service Foundation, Tacoma Pierce County Chamber, the Pierce County Reading Foundation, American Benefits Council and the Thrive by Five Advisory Committee.
