Climate assessment

Throughout the past several years, significant efforts have been made to assess and improve the climate at the Bothell, Seattle and Tacoma campuses. These assessments have focused on students, faculty and/or staff in a multitude of ways.  In autumn 2019, the UW conducted a University-wide campus climate survey for the Bothell, Seattle and Tacoma campuses, including the health sciences schools in Seattle. More than 18,000 students, faculty and staff responded with their perspectives on how to create more equitable living, learning and working environments. Beginning in summer 2020, a leadership team chaired by Rickey Hall, vice president for Minority Affairs & Diversity and university diversity officer, will work together with students, staff and faculty to understand the reports, determine the best ways to implement key findings and provide overall strategic direction.
