Consultation and Assessment Team The University of Washington is committed to providing students with a safe and supportive learning environment. In order to assist students in times of need, Health and Wellness Programs has formalized a response team to meet individual and community needs as they arise. The Consultation and Assessment Team (CAT) meets regularly to review concerns voiced by students, faculty and staff. The goal is to provide preventative intervention and education by offering assistance to students in distress whether they self identify or are identified by other members of the University community. We provide direct service and resource referral, utilizing the expertise of University services and resources designed to support students' developmental and academic success. If you have any questions about CAT or would like to access CAT, please contact Amanda Myhre and Shannon Bailie at: (206) 543-2684.
Vision and Values The Division of Student Life has undertaken a process to align our work with the University of Washington's Vision and Values. By clarifying the areas where our work furthers the purpose of the University as a whole, we can begin to identify potential partnerships, collaborations, and even gaps and redundancies, thereby deepening the impact of our work for each individual student and the community. Welcome
At the University of Washington we are committed to our students' whole development - mind, body, purpose, spirit, and meaning.
Our division is comprised of sixteen departments and offices that play an integral role in your education, whether you are aware of it or not. Admissions and Student Financial Aid help make your entry to UW a smooth and affordable one. The Office of the Registrar handles many of the behind-the-scenes tasks that make your day-to-day academic life possible. Some students work with Disability Resources for Students and Business Services and Veterans' Affairs from day one, while others may discover that they need additional support along the way. We keep you well-fed and sheltered through Housing and Food Services, active and healthy through Recreational Sports Programs, and up-to-date through Student Publications. We'll be your partners in safety and crime prevention through the University Police Department. We also work closely and collaboratively with our fraternities and sororities through Greek Relations - important communities at UW. And if you should experience challenges along the way, the Counseling Center is here to listen and offer support. Your interests, leadership skills, and desire to serve will find a home with Student Activities and Union Facilities. Career Center prepares you for each step towards life beyond UW and when you are ready to leave us, the Office of Ceremonies will help you celebrate your transition. Our commitment to your growth and development at UW is evidenced in our work through Health and Wellness, and our expectations for your continued commitment to the principles of our community are upheld through Community Standards and Student Conduct. These are just a few of the ways we touch your experience at UW. We are also very proud of the many collaborative relationships we have with other departments and divisions across the University, all of which contribute to the world-class education that you find at UW.
The Office of the Vice Provost is the place to go when you don't know where to go. We work with students and families in difficult situations, when multiple services are needed to provide a safe transition. We may work with a student for just a couple of days to weather a storm, a quarter to handle an unexpected hardship, or for the length of an education in rare cases. If you find yourself in a challenging situation and you don't know where to start, rest assured that we are here to work with you.
We look forward to seeing you on campus and working with you through any and all of our network of student development services and programs.
Eric S. Godfrey
