Use of University of Washington Facilities

Welcome to the University of Washington's electronic process for requesting the use of University facilities.

Approval from the Use of University Facilities Committee (UUFC) is required for all non-University organizations or individuals desiring to use space on the campus for any function. In addition, requests from faculty, staff, and registered or other official student organizations wishing to use space on campus for events to which members of the general public are invited, must also be approved by the UUFC.

Who is eligible to rent UW Facilities?

Individual students, faculty, staff or alumni are eligible to rent UW facilities. In addition, non-University individuals and organizations may rent facilities if the use of the facilities is consistent with the regulations that are outlined in WAC 478-136-030.

How do I initiate the process?

There are many facilities on campus that can be reserved. The individual or organization desiring to the use of that facility must contact the venue operator scheduling that particular facility to request it for the date and time needed. At the time the venue operator will give the individual or organization a tentative reservation and instructions for initiating the electronic facility reservation process. (see below)

Anyone requesting the use of a University facility (the event coordinator) can initiate the process by completing an electronic form (RUUF). Once completed and submitted, the form is automatically forwarded to the University sponsor (Dean, Director, Chair or SAO Representative).  The University sponsor’s approval automatically forwards the form to the venue operator of the requested facility. Once approved by both the University sponsor and the venue operator, the form is forwarded to the Chair of the Use of University Facilities Committee for final approval.
