The Office of Special Programs offers a number of campus services including the administration of the academic integrity program, the Use of University Facilities program, authorization to apply for a banquet permit to serve alcoholic beverages, and the Parent and Family Resource and Referral Service. In addition, the Special Assistant serves faculty and staff by providing assistance on a variety of student-related issues. This includes helping instructors assess problematic student behavior, and determining when and how to intervene.
Gus Kravas is a counseling psychologist who has also served as the director of counseling services, dean of students and vice provost for student affairs at Washington State University, assistant vice chancellor for student affairs at the University of California, Riverside, and vice provost for student relations at the University of Washington.
Kristy Carter supports the Office of Special Programs' campus services. She previously worked at the World Affairs Council of Seattle, coordinating meetings and events for high-level international visitors, and as an English teacher in Japan.
