OIM Overview

The Office of Information Management was created by the Provost and the Vice President for UW Technology in November 2006 to direct information management and information systems throughout the University of Washington.

The Office of Information Management (OIM) is headed by interim Vice Provost for Information Management and Chief Information Officer (VP-IM/CIO) Sara Gomez. The VP-IM/CIO provides university-wide leadership in the development and management of information systems and applications.

The VP-IM/CIO reports primarily to the Provost, and also reports to the Vice President for UW Technology on technology issues. The VP-IM/CIO serves on both the Provost and UW Technology leadership teams.
