Letter from Sara Gomez to OIM, dated February 18, 2008:

Colleagues,

I am delighted to announce that Cindy Brown is joining OIM as Associate Vice Provost of Communications and Outreach. In this role, Cindy will be responsible for developing OIM's internal and external communications and outreach initiatives and programs. She will also play a key leadership role in the development and ongoing implementation of the Strategic Roadmap and other planning efforts.

As many of you know, Cindy has been serving a dual role as communications director for both OIM and UW Technology over the past year. She has been instrumental in many of OIM's key communications to the UW community, and in development of the Strategic Roadmap as co-lead of the Governance Task Group with Jim Loter and a member of the OIM leadership team.

OIM is very fortunate to have Cindy in this key leadership position. She brings a wealth of experience in strategic planning, supporting both UW Technology's and OIM's efforts. In addition, Cindy has been instrumental in supporting the Technology Advisory Committees (TAC's) since their inception and will continue to bring her expertise in supporting I-MAC.

As noted in Scott Mah's recent announcement of organizational changes within UW Technology Services, Cindy will continue to have a dotted line reporting relationship to Scott and offer strategic communications to UW Technology. I would also like to extend a sincere thank you to Kathryn Sharpe who will continue to work with Cindy and support the OIM communications efforts.
