Policy Assessment
Aspects of the "Eight by '08" goals center on assessing and improving the flexible policy options for faculty.
Specifically, we are focusing on four areas:
- Exploring the tenure and promotion outcomes of faculty who received tenure clock extensions compared to faculty who did not;
- Analyzing the costs and the benefits of policy use, both to the university and to faculty;
- Creating a human resource information system (HRIS) to track policy utilization by faculty; and
- Assessing the 'fit' between faculty eligible for policy use and those choosing to do so.
The first area, policy utilization and career outcomes, will be completed by Summer 2007.
The second area, the cost-benefit analysis, will begin Spring 2007.
The third area, a human resource information system, will be completed by Fall 2008.
The fourth area, the 'fit' assessment, will begin Spring 2007.
