New Resources
The "Eight by '08" goals include new resources for faculty.
Specifically, we are focusing on three areas:
- Piloting an option for new biological fathers and for adoptive parents of both genders for the purpose of bonding that will permit the coverage of classroom responsibilities;
- Piloting a peer support group for 'new mom' faculty members; and
- Increasing the childcare available to faculty.
The first area, the 'bonding' option, is under development and will be piloted Fall 2007. Details can be found at the Parental Teaching Release pilot page.
Development of and recruitment for the 'new moms' group pilot began Fall 2006. See the Parent Group website for additional details. Supports for additional parents groups are being developed.
A plan for increasing childcare availability will be developed by Fall 2008. See the Provost's Childcare Advisory Committee website for additional details
