About the University Technology Advisory Committee (U-TAC)
The University Technology Advisory Committee (U-TAC) is a university-wide
steering committee and advisory body that meets quarterly to provide advice and
policy guidance on information technology directions, strategies, plans, and
priorities vital to sustaining cost-effectiveness, excellence, and competitiveness
in the UW's teaching, learning, research, clinical, and outreach missions and
programs.
U-TAC:
- Is chaired by Dr. Phyllis M. Wise, Provost and Executive Vice President
- Has purview over UW information technology strategies and policies at all
levels across the University
- Considers overall UW technology infrastructure and the interrelated realms
of academic, clinical, digital library, and administrative computing, networking,
and information management
- Advises the President, Provost and Executive Vice President,
Senior Vice President for Finance and Facilities, and Vice President
for UW Technology
- Refers issues to A-TAC and I-MAC for advice and input
- Appoints task forces and subcommittees as necessary
- Considers and prioritizes recommendations from A-TAC and I-MAC
