Overview

This site helps you prepare a project proposal for review by the Information Management Advisory Committee (I-MAC). I-MAC is responsible for review, approval, and oversight of administrative systems projects. All administrative systems projects that meet certain criteria must be reviewed and approved by I-MAC. Contact and help: You can contact Nancy Rauhauser at the OIM Planning group (is-planning@u.washington.edu) at any time to ask questions, talk about the proposal process, or suggest ways to improve this Web site. This also is the address to use if you want to schedule a (recommended) meeting before you write a proposal, and you will use it to contact OIM staff to complete cost estimates and other information during the proposal preparation process.

Before preparing your proposal, read about:

• Criteria for Projects that require I-MAC review and approval: If your project meets any of these criteria, you must submit a proposal to the I-MAC committee.
• Proposal Requirements: Be sure you are prepared to meet these project proposal requirements before you start.
• IT standards: Projects must meet these IT standards for project resources, integration, reliability, and security.
• Project definition and planning tools: Be sure to define the scope of your project before you start drafting a proposal.
• Proposal deadline: To have your proposal considered for I-MAC approval, you must submit a completed project proposal to the OIM Planning group by September 30. Plan on allowing at least a month for OIM to complete the proposal with you, once you have sent an initial draft to them. See the I-MAC timeline for additional dates.
