What Is the Staff Forum?

President McCormick established the President's 15-member Staff Forum in the fall of 1997 and the first meeting was in January 1998.

"I routinely meet with administrators, faculty leaders, student leaders, alumni and community leaders, and this is a way to get staff input on a regular basis," said President McCormick. "I am excited about this opportunity to involve staff in discussions of major issues shaping the University's future."

The Staff Forum meets with the President every two months to discuss a variety of UW policy issues, such as the evaluation of University task force reports, priorities for the University's legislative agenda and how best to achieve those priorities, and sharing the skills of University staff most effectively in the local community and in University planning activities. Excluded topics from the Staff Forum cover issues reserved for discussions between the university and unions representing staff.
