UW Pride & Community
Center for Career Services Job Listings and Events Coordinator Emma O’Neill talks about how being part of the UW community is an inspiration in her career.
During my senior year at the UW, I took a “Peer Advisor” position at the Center for Career Services that I figured would be a great way to earn a little spending money and get more connected with the UW community. Two years later, I am still at the CCS, planning campus-wide career fairs and working with employers who want to hire UW students and alumni.
I believe in the power of higher education, as well as the importance of connecting the academic world to the needs and assets of the surrounding community. I am thrilled to be able to assist UW students and alumni in making the transition from college to work. In fact, my fellow Huskies really make my job easier – when working with employers, I am truly proud to talk about the students and alumni of this institution.
I cannot think of a livelier place to work than the UW. With students, staff, and faculty from all over the globe, and visitors including national and international speakers, lectures, dance groups, and political figures, this is a fascinating place to be!
