The Distinguished Staff Awards committee is comprised of a combination of 12 classified and professional staff members from the University. They represent a variety of positions and units, making the selection committee a diverse and well-rounded group. The committee members serve a staggered three-year term, which creates a nice blend of consistency and new ideas.
The self-governing committee is lead by two co-chairs, who are elected by the other committee members. The committee begins reviewing the nomination packets shortly after the submission deadline, and carefully considers each nominee according to the award criteria.
Selection of the award recipients is completed in late February and awardees are notified by the Vice President of Human Resources shortly thereafter.
