Pine for Unix

Pine, Pico (the text editor used to compose messages in Pine), Pilot (the file browser used in Pine) and UW's IMAP server are copyrighted, but freely available. Source code and documentation for building the latest versions of Pine, Pico and Pilot can be found on the anonymous FTP host ftp.cac.washington.edu in the file /pine/pine.tar.Z.

Binaries of Pine, Pico, and IMAP for several versions of Unix are available from the anonymous FTP host ftp.cac.washington.edu in the directories /pine/unix-bin or /pine/unix-bin-compressed. In addition to these already compiled Unix binaries, the Pine source code can be compiled for a variety of platforms; see Pine: Available ports.

IMAP software is also available from the anonymous FTP host ftp.cac.washington.edu in the directory /imap. For more information, visit the IMAP Information Center.
