Parent and Family Programs

Parents and families are vital partners for the University of Washington to help our students develop into independent and responsible future leaders. The mission of Parent and Family Programs is to provide a window into the student experience at UW, actively providing opportunities for families to engage and create their own University of Washington experiences, enriching not only the lives of students but the University community at large.

W Parent: Your New Role

The University of Washington is committed to being a resource for your family through the transition of sending your student to college.  We hope to provide information that will help you prepare for, and adjust to, the changes ahead. The relationship you’ve built with your student doesn’t need to end here.   While your relationship will certainly change in the next four to five years, your student may still come to you when they have a problem or need advice and encouragement. We believe parents can support their Husky while still being instrumental in promoting personal responsibility and independence.

We want you to have the information you need about campus life, access to important dates, and notification of noteworthy events taking place on campus so you can make the most of the time your son or daughter is at the UW.  Congratulations on your students’ success and welcome to the University Washington!
