College Preparation Elective Course
Upward Bound students will take two .5 elective courses at KM, once during 10th or 11th grade and once during 12th grade. Topics include: postsecondary options, admissions and application processes, scholarships, time management, study skills, career exploration, readiness for college-level reading and writing, money management, and strategies for college success.
Academic Support
Upward Bound supports students to be academically successful in high schools. Staff provide afterschool help with homework and academic guidance such as high school course selection.
Preparing for College
Upward Bound staff work closely with each student to ensure that they graduate from high school with a clear path to college. Students receive guidance about colleges of best fit based on the student’s career interest and academic profile.
