Washington MESA Receives Grant to Launch Engineering Fellows Program
Washington MESA, housed in the UW Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity, and Washington STEM received a $400,000 grant to launch an Engineering Fellows Program. This program, funded by the national STEM education group 100Kin10, will pair engineers with 200 fifth grade teachers throughout the state to equip them with the skills required to offer engineering programs in their own classrooms.
Washington MESA builds a pathway to college and careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics for students who are underrepresented in these fields. Washington STEM is a statewide non-profit that advances excellence, equity and innovation in STEM Education. Read the press release.
