Rosebaugh Honored at Women of Color Empowered Luncheon

Rosebaugh Honored at Women of Color Empowered LuncheonKarlotta Rosebaugh, director of OMA&D’s Health Sciences Center Minority Students Program (HSCMSP), was among the female leaders in health care honored at the Northwest Asian Weekly’s Women of Color Empowered Luncheon in Seattle, Feb. 7.

Rosebaugh has served in her current role for the last 24 years. Her program provides graduate and professional school application assistance, academic advising and counseling, and undergraduate research opportunities for diverse students pursuing health sciences degrees.

eNews Spring 2014Rosebaugh has assisted in writing several teaching grants, resulting in over $12 million in funding for educational initiatives for high school and undergraduate students in the health and biomedical/biobehavioral sciences. She also teaches an annual seminar on “Cultural and Global Citizenship Competency” for the Harvard School of Public Health Multidisciplinary International Research Training Program.

Additional women honored with UW ties were Dr. Lily Jung Henson (clinical associate professor of neurology), Dr. Mariko Kita (clinical assistant professor of neurology), Dr. Shaquita Bell (clinical assistant professor of general pediatrics) and Dr. Seok Bee Lim (pediatric dentistry).

Several OMA&D and UW staff members were on hand to celebrate with Rosebaugh.
