Student Blog Update: Busy Week in Brisbane

by Haneen Al-Hassani

Hey guys! It’s been one busy week! We went to visit the aboriginal museum and learned quite a bit of Australian history. The aboriginals are the natives of Australia and were treated unfairly for quite some time. They’ve only recently gained rights – around the mid to late 1900s. It was just an absolute honor to meet and learn about their history. I loved their artwork; we were able to even paint our own boomerangs!

Also we ended up going to the Koala Sanctuary and ended up hugging and taking pictures with a koala, petted and fed kangaroos and checked out some pretty cool animals. It was so fun! Next we plan on going to Moreton Bay to start gathering data for our group’s research. Look forward to that blog so stay tuned for next time.
